Dr. Liltina Prendergast

My name is Dr. Liltina Prendergast. I am a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant with over 5 years of experience in the field. As a business owner, entrepreneur, and founder of Nurse Consultant – Midwest Services LLC, I have the honor of assisting attorneys with determining deviations in standards of care and the merit of various cases nationally. As a CLNC, I have had the opportunity to work on various cases involving Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Nursing Home Abuse & Neglect, Forensics, Medication Errors, Falls, Pressure Injury Wounds, as well as contracting and expert witness testimony. I also serve as a panel expert for the Vickie Milazzo Institute for Legal Nurse Consultants. As a CLNC, I maintain an active membership for both the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants – NACLNC Association, and the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration of Long-Term Care (NADONA).

As a CLNC, I hold an international certification in Skin, Wound, & Ostomy Care (i.e., SWOC), from the College of Long-Term Care. As a Doctor of Nursing Practice (Leadership and Healthcare Systems), I have worked as a Director of Nursing Services, Clinical Nurse Manager, Nurse Supervisor, Traveling Veteran Coordinator, Floor Nurse, Supervisory Medical Support Assistant, Lead Medical Support Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Navy Hospital Corpsman (Military), Engineering (Military), and Pharmacy Technician (Military & Civilian). My career also includes working for the federal government within the Veterans Healthcare Administration for 13.5 years in various positions, and served 15 honorable years in the United States Navy.

I have also been selected to teach a virtual LNC course for Duke professional certificate program with a focus on “Case Analysis for Long Term Care and Medical Malpractice.” My education endeavors have led me to obtain a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Master of Nursing (MSN), Bachelor of Science in Business Management (BSBM), Bachelor of Nursing (BSN), Associates of Arts in Pharmacy Technology, and currently completing a Family Nurse Practitioner Graduate Certificate program. My clinical experience includes Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy/GI, Cardiac Cath Lab, Dermatology, Hematology, Radiation Oncology, Anticoagulation clinic, Sleep Study Clinic, Rheumatology, Pain Clinic, PACU, Emergency Room, Hemodialysis, Ventilator Dependent Unit, Long Term Acute Care, Palliative & Hospice, Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Wound Care, Pharmacy Management and Mental /Behavioral Health.
