Barbara Levin is the Clinical Scholar of the orthopaedic trauma unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. Barbara testifies as a national orthopaedics and medical surgical expert in federal and state courts. Barbara's testimony has gone before a Supreme Court where they recognized her knowledge and expertise. The Massachusetts Governor appointed Barbara to the Massachusetts Board of Nursing and she served as the chair where she reviewed and opined on all complaints and licensure issues.

Barbara served on the NAON Executive Board - Director (2012-2015). In addition, she has researched, published and lectured extensively about patient safety, orthopaedics, and documentation practices. Barbara Levin co-authored Legal Implications in the Care of Orthopaedic Patients for the Nursing Clinics of North America. Barbara has written several chapters about nursing care and standards of care. She served as President of the AALNC and also served on its board for five years.
